Recipe: Mama Stamberg's Cranberry Relish

This is the recipe from the #RelishYourHealth episode where I explain and make Mama Stamberg's Thanksgiving Cranberry Relish. Protect your health this holiday season! This contains antibacterial, antimicrobial and antibiotic agents along with a diuretic that will repel and expel all bacteria from your body. Perfect for dealing with the germs your relatives will be bringing to Thanksgiving!

Add to your food processor:

2 cups raw cranberries
2 tablespoons horseradish
1 small onion
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup sour cream

Process for about 20 seconds, then pulse until chunky. Transfer to a plastic storage container. Freeze overnight, then thaw for several hours before serving.

Relish Your Health with Mama Stamberg's Thanksgiving Cranberry Relish

This year, I am happy to be joining Susan Stamberg's longstanding efforts to promote holiday health on NPR by making and explaining a powerful disinfectant disguised as a festive pink relish! I hope this leads to healthier, happier holidays for everybody. Please make this and share with your family and friends.

Recipe: Cold brew noodles

This is the all-new recipe from the cold brew noodle episode.

Place in a French press:
1 cup noodles
2–3 cups water, to cover
pinch kosher salt

Stir with a chopstick, then cover with the plunger. Let sit 8 to 10 hours, overnight or during the work day. Drain but save the starchy water for thickening sauces. Enjoy with a warm sauce, or cold by using your fingers!

Use Your Noodle: The Reload

I revisited making noodles from the steak stir-fry episode from years ago. People who live alone in cramped apartments have long known how to microwave ramen noodles, but it turns out that you can microwave any kind of noodle. And if you have patience, you can also make cold brew noodles using your French press!

Ribeye Steak

Food 411 for One is back as Food 411 for One II, and the first episode is out!

Ribeye steak is delicious and easy to prepare. Just sear and bake it at a very high temperature. But be careful!
